Long-Term Care Community Plans Renovation, Expansion

With an estimated construction cost of $1.5 million, the expansion and renovations at Asbury Place Johnson City will include new amenities for residents, building on Asbury’s reputation for high-quality healthcare. With goals of consolidating operations, gaining efficiencies, and providing better service, amenities will include a new “country” kitchen, an enhanced home environment, and new carpet throughout, providing a more home-like atmosphere. The development features an expanded dining room, activity room, outdoor patio, and better therapy services, doubling the space for speech, occupational, and physical therapies.

“This construction is evidence of Asbury’s ongoing commitment to high-quality long-term healthcare. It will allow our staff to serve our residents in an environment of excellence, and that is always our goal,” said Melanie Scott, administrator of Asbury Place Johnson City.

Johnson City officials worked with Asbury Place Johnson City to provide an option for land for possible future expansion.

Refreshments will be served following the program. Asbury asks for the courtesy of an R.S.V.P. for attendance at 423-975-2000.

Asbury, Inc., which owns three retirement communities in eastern Tennessee, has renovation and expansion projects underway at all of its campuses, positioning it to provide for the exploding senior living market expected over the next several years.
